
2010 Officers
Bob Ippolito, President – Unit 3 Resident. Bob retired from Xerox Corporation as the Florida General Manager where he was responsible for developing and implementing Xerox’ marketing strategy for Florida State and Local Government and educational marketplace. He assisted local governments and school districts in implementing Total Quality Management processes. He also served on the Florida Quality Advisory Council; an information technology Adjunct Professor at Tallahassee Community College, as well as Chairman of their Office Automation Advisory Committee. Bob has a B.S. degree from York College and Masters and Doctorate degrees in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Bob and his wife, Mildred, have lived in Killearn since 1975 and raised 4 children here. He was also a board member of KHA in the late 1970’s. Bob also serves on the Architectural Control Committee.
Lee Johnson, Vice President – Unit 12 Resident. Lee is a graduate of Cornell University and owned and managed is own business for 25 years. He has served on several boards, including 28 years on a county planning board, 15 years on a hospital board and 8 years on a multi-county visiting nurse board, ending his service as Chairman of the Board. His background and experience give him the ability to work effectively with various constituencies in a non-confrontational and productive manner. His experience includes planning in park development and other county matters. Lee has contributed to the continued success of the Killearn area for the past 5 years. Lee chairs the Maintenance Committee as well as serving on the Architectural Control Committee. Lee and his wife have lived in Killearn Estates for the last 6 years.
Allen Nobles, Secretary – Unit 37 Resident. Allen has been a Tallahassee resident since 1964 and has lived in Killearn Estates for the past 13 years. He is a registered Land Surveyor in Florida and Georgia and is the president of Allen Nobles & Associates, Inc., a local surveying and engineering firm. Allen is also an approved educational provider for the State of Florida and has served as an instructor for many professional associations in Florida and Georgia. In addition, Allen has been a State Officer for the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society for 6 years; Past Chairman, Industrial Advisory Committee, Florida A & M University; Approved education provider by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation; Instructor for classes in Florida Minimum Technical Standards, GPS, State Plane Coordinates, Florida Law and LAMP/LiDAR mapping; Real Estate License – Florida; Has a PCA racing license and is a driving Instructor for PCA, Chin Motorsports and BMW driving schools. He has also served as an expert witness in legal proceedings and conducted seminars for professional legal associations. Allen has two grown daughters and he and his wife, Pam, have a son, Jonathan. Allen is the chairperson of the Audit Committee.
Bill Sittig, Treasurer – Unit 15 Resident. Bill grew up in Killearn Estates and his parents still live in their house of 37 years on Castlebar Circle. He and his wife, Jill bought their own house in Killearn 10 years ago and live on Edenderry Drive where they are raising their two children, Lauren and Jacob. Bill attended and graduated from Leon High (Class of ’76!), Tallahassee Community College, Florida State University (Finance), and Florida Atlantic University (Accounting) in Boca Raton. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and has held responsible positions in banking, public accounting, not-for-profits and government for the last 25 years. In 2007 he was named Managing Partner of the public accounting firm Jett & Sittig, PA, where he works with his partner Bob Jett providing professional tax, accounting and financial advisory services to a wide range of individual and business clients. Bill is adept at understanding complex issues and providing sound solutions to those challenges. He is a team player and consensus builder. He believes in complete inclusion, allowing residents the time and space needed to address their concerns on an individual basis. Bill and his firm are members in good standing of both the American and Florida Institute’s of Certified Public Accountants. He is active in the Tallahassee Kiwanis Club, The Economic Club of Florida, and The Tallahassee Film Festival.
Board Members
Jim Ashlock – Unit 22 Resident. Jim Ashlock and his wife, Betty, have been Killearn residents since 1984. He is a past-president of KHA’s Board. Jim was with Eastern Airlines for 25 years, then worked as public affairs director for Palm Beach County, was president of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and Executive Director of University Relations for Texas A&M University. In retirement, Jim volunteers for Hospice, is on the Board of the Northeast Business Association and ushers at Trinity United Methodist Church. He holds a B.S. degree in Journalism from Texas A&M, and a M.A. from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. The Ashlocks are parents of three grown children and have four grandchildren. Jim is the chairperson of the Recreation Committee.
Christine DeLand – Unit 12 Resident. Christine, a Killearn Estates resident for 3 years, is originally from Southern California. She has 27 years experience in Real Estate investing and property management including large private multi-million dollar estates, up to 200 acres with tennis courts, stables, pools, water well systems, lakes and dams, in addition to large property development/management, aquatic habitat maintenance experience and forested property management. Christine is a licensed Florida Realtor, Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Certified Home Marketing Specialist (CHMS) and an internet marketing specialist (e-PRO) currently with ERA Community Realty here in Killearn. Christine wants to see our lovely neighborhood continue to retain its current charm and is happy to serve in any way she can.
Bob Kauzlarich – Unit 8 Resident. Bob and his wife Jennifer have been year round residents of Killearn Estates for the past sixteen years. Prior to that, Bob spent one half of each year in Tallahassee working for the University of Miami where he was employed for 23 years. Bob is now retired from both the University of Miami, and the State University System of Illinois. Bob has two degrees from Western Illinois University and was a member, and Chairman, of the Zoning Board of Appeals in Washington, Illinois. Bob and Jennifer have two adult daughters. One of Bob’s primary objectives as a member of the board is maintaining property values. Bob is currently chairperson of the Strategic Planning Committee.
Virginia Newman – Unit 36 Resident. Virginia, a resident of Killearn for 12 years, is a native of Mississippi. She moved to Tallahassee in 1967. She has a long career in journalism and public relations, including reporter with the Times-Picayune newspaper in New Orleans; the Tribune newspaper in Tampa; and the Associated Press in Tallahassee. She has held posts as communications director of several state agencies, including DOT, Department of Commerce, HRS and Department of Finance. She was communications director of Centel-Florida and associate communications director of Sprint-Florida. She was press secretary for Gov. Bob Martinez. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri and a Master’s degree in communication from Florida State University. Now retired from service with the state of Florida, she is a free lance writer, concentrating on travel writing. In retirement, she is active with a number of community organizations, including the Economic Club. She has three grown sons and five grandchildren..
Joe Zollner – Unit 1 Resident. Joe, his wife, Julie and their two children have lived in Killearn Estates since moving to Tallahassee in 2002 from Tampa where Joe was in private practice with a large insurance defense firm. After a visit to Tallahassee in 2001, Joe and Julie were taken by Tallahassee’s charm and all it had to offer and decided it would be a great place to raise a family. Joe was born and raised in Illinois but spent a lot of time in Florida visiting both his paternal and maternal grandparents. He obtained his Bachelors Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Illinois in 1982 and following college, went to work for Allstate Insurance Company. While working for Allstate, he attended law school at night at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Joe obtained his J.D., cum laude, in 1998 and worked for Allstate as Staff Counsel. Joe is an associate with Guy E. Burnette, Jr., P.A. where he practices primarily in the area of insurance related litigation. He is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Illinois. Joe is a member of the Tallahassee Bar Association and volunteers for Legal Services of North Florida, Inc. Joe is currently chairperson of the Covenants & Restrictions Oversight Committee.
